What is the job of a reduction valvue in a 2 zone baseboard heating system?
Q. My boiler is approx. 50 years old. I have a reduction valve that is shaped like a bell. The lever either goes from one side to the other, but it is very loose and does not seem to catch anything. How does the reduction valve work, especially in a 2 zone situation?
Asked by oneakmusic - Wed Oct 29 21:46:07 2008 - - 0 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I think the valve your referring to is a pressure reducing valve. It would be installed in the water inlet line to the boiler, and it maintains the water level in the boiler by sensing the water height in the heating system. It has nothing to do with the zone valve, they control the water circulation in the heating system.

A. Why are the glaciers melting in Alaska?? Ask the people of Alaska. I did The reason the glaciers are melting is because of the volcano's that have erupted. The ash from the volcano's land on the glaciers,, the ash is dark, because it's dark,it absorbs heat from the sun. Thus the ice melts. To stop the melting,, stop the volcano's from erupting. How about those pockets of methane gas in the oceans,,if they erupt, the methane gas will be so strong that it will kill all living things on earth, How do you propose we stop that from happening?? Humans & animals exhale CO2, plants take in CO2,, Plants give off oxygen. Cut off the CO2 to the plants and see what happens. How does the red eye reduction feature on a camera work?
Q. I have a photography test and I basically know nothing. So anyway. Can anyone explain how the red-eye reduction feature on a camera works?
Asked by Notme. - Mon Sep 28 13:59:38 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The cameras flash sends out a short interval of reduced power flashes to "fool" the eye (before the shutter opens and the full flash goes off) into thinking there is a lot of light and the iris of the eye closes some and reduces redeye. The only way to eliminate redeye is to mount an external flash over the camera on a bracket. You may see a photographer using this setup at weddings.

How noticeable are scars from a breast reduction?
Q. I am considering a breast reduction but am really concerned about the scars. I know that I will be scarred for a while as I heal, but how apparent are the scars long term? Thanks!

A. i had a breast reduction in oct 08. my scars are already fading. my friend who had the same surgery last year by the same doctor has scars that are barely visible. you have to look super closely to even see that they are there. however, i look at the scar as a very small price to pay for all the benefits that a breast reduction bring. i am VERY happy with my decision to do it.

How can you tell if a fractured metacarpal needs reduction?
Q. I broke my fifth metacarpal and my doctor gave me a referral for next week. How can I know if the orthopedist will need to perform a reduction on my hand? And is a week too long to wait?
Asked by Jason F - Tue Feb 17 15:02:07 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It will all depend on what your xray shows and no a week isn't too long to wait. A bone can be rebroken (worst case scenario) and/or reduction applied at any point. I assume you have the finger splinted or otherwise stabilized if your doctor feels a referral is needed. Just be very careful until you can see the ortho.

A. If you call your bank, now a days, as everyone is at their throat trying to make ends meet, you can ask them to do a Loan Modification. Loan Modification can happen in on e or two ways. They can lower interests rate at about 1% or 3% more or less. Or, they can reduce what you owe, matching the CURRENT value of your home, luckily the value of the properties has gone down. But this is not just one call to the bank , and its done. NO, you have to call them everyday, every hour be consistent, be specific. Like if they would have been calling you as a collection, you have to do the same. The bank will ask you to show why you need them to reduce it, like taxes, lost of job, etc. Good Luck.

Do debt reduction services make you file bankruptcy?

A. Many debt reduction services charge large fees. They also often times make you save all the money up (including their fees) before they contact the creditors. This can make someone with good credit get bad credit because some of these services recommend to people to stop paying off their debt completely. I wouldn't use any service except maybe a credit counselor. A credit counselor will help you set a budget and create a payoff plan for your debt. Use the below link to help you find a reputable one. You could even get away with doing everything yourself. First pull your credit reports from the three major credit bureaus: Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax You can get free ones at www.annualcreditreport.co m. Then take note of how… [cont.]

A. This is a VERY complicated procedure...and that's JUST to get the ball rolling. Although your insurance "may pay" for the procedure, most companies will require a stringent amount of criteria to be met; often taking months of documentation and regular follow-ups with your medical provider. A most recent patient of mine wanted this done. She is only 15, but has had significant esteem/psychological affliction due to this, as well as physiological strain as well. Despite meeting a great deal of the required criteria, the insurance company refused because they set a required amount of breast tissue that must be removed that would have been more than she could have sacrificed. So, in the end, they did nothing despite verbal and written… [cont.]

How do you calculate the cost of an item before the sale reduction?
Q. If you buy something for, say, 50 and you know that it is 15% off, how do you calculate the price before the 15% reduction?
Asked by Ziggy - Wed Jan 14 10:44:36 2009 - - 16 Answers - 0 Comments

A. 50 is the 85% of the original price (because 15% is taken off). One percent is 50 / 85 = 0.588 100 percent is 0.588 * 100 = 58.88 I'd say the original price was most likely 58.99

A. There are a ton of them out there. What route is best is defined by how much time and money you are willing to spend. The best answer is to find a personal coach who will set you up with the product s/he prefers. Check out www.vasta.org to find a coach. It can even be someone on the other side of the world if you're willing and ready to use Skype. That can get pretty expensive, but it's the best route. Part of working with a coach is the motivation--they hold you accountable for actually practicing like you said you would. If you can motivate yourself, you can work with a digital recorder and a text/audio set. (I recommend the Olympus DM recorders, or get a free download of Audacity if you want to record directly onto your computer. [cont.]

What effect would a drastic reduction in carbon-dioxide emissions have on plant life?
Q. With all the propaganda about "global warming", "global climate change", and being "carbon neutral", has anyone thought of the effects a drastic reduction in carbon-dioxide emissions would have on plants that need C02? If we reduce carbon emissions enough to make any difference in the climate, wouldn't it have a negative impact on our crops, trees, and other essential plant life?
Asked by whotoblame - Sat Nov 21 06:39:15 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. This is easy to answer, it would cause massive crop reduction world wide. Co2 is a major part of higher crop yields in the modern world and why the world oceans release co2 from storage as they warm. This is why co2 rise always follows climate change so that as the oceans warm the release co2 to feed the growing numbers of plants that need it to grow and and produce more food and oxygen for population increase promoted by warmer temperatures. What is the difference between Principal Reduction and Additonal Payment for my mortgage?
Q. I just recently bought my first condominium, and I am paying my first mortgage bill. On the bill, it has a box that says: application of extra money ('X' check one) __ principal reduction (C) __Additional payment (P) I am wondering what is the difference between the two and if anyone has any suggestions on which one I should check? Thanks!
Asked by Nancy - Tue Dec 22 03:46:12 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Check Principal Reduction. If you do this at least 1x every year you will save a lot of interest in the long term. If you look at the numbers, the initial principal amount is very small and you can pay some every month in the beginning. It saves a lot in the long term. Don't let anyone tell you that you need the interest deduction. That is money that you never have to spend and you can keep it instead of being able to deduct 15% or 28%- whichever is your tax bracket. I wish I had known this in the early years of my mortgage! Congrats on your new home!.

A. Think of your boyfriend here! I also am going for this surgery in six months time, Yes you do need drain tubes, but think of the wonderful results, less back pain, and shoulder pain, neck as well. It will hurt, for some time, but in the long run, it will be the best thing for you. Take care, and don't worry, long term affects far outway the discomfort from the actual surgery. Take care. Pros.. no more back pain (if you have experienced this due to the weight of your breasts), fitting into tops/shirts of your interest. Cons... All I can think of is the recovery process. No- using the drains is actually involved in outdated techniques for breast reduction. There are many new technique now which use minimal incisions and therefore minimal… [cont.]

Tax reduction for feeding kids at your house?

A. I've personally never heard of a tax reduction just for feeding children in your house. Now if you run an actual day care center from your home and provide food for the children then that would be a business related expense that can be tax deductible. I can thing of places you could try to report the expense to receive a reduction but they expenses really don't fit.
