In linguistics, grammar is the set of structural rules that govern the composition of sentences, phrases, and words in any given natural language. The term refers also to the study of such rules, and this field includes morphology, syntax, and phonology, often complemented by phonetics, semantics, and pragmatics. Linguists do not normally use the term to refer to orthographical rules, although usage books and style guides that call themselves grammars may also refer to spelling and punctuation.

What is good grammar and why is it important? Should you be concerned about your grammar usage even around fam?
Q. What is good grammar, and why is it important? Should you be concerned about your grammar usage even around family and friends? Explain and give some examples

A. grammer definately makes a difference in your speech and writing. look at this example: Lets eat, grandma. Lets eat grandma. As you can see the first phrase implies that the speaker is asking grandma to come and eat. The second phrase implies that without the comma the speaker (and whoever that may be with them) are going to eat grandma. See the difference? Hope I helped :)

What are some good japanese grammar learning books?
Q. What are some good books out there that help people learn the basic grammar of japanese. I don't want audio, or CDs just a book to help me be able to make sentences. I already have something to help with kana and kanji. I've heard from people that a book called "Hand book of Japanese grammar" is a good book. Is it?

How to teach grammar to none English speakers?
Q. I like teaching but my current job is teaching grammar to koren students. I wonder what strategy is the best to help them understand the explanation.

A. Grammar needs to be taught in context. You can't just teach grammar - it is, after all, a tool and not an end in itself. If your school insists on you teaching grammar, I would suggest teaching the students the kind of English they need to know and then examining the structure/grammar of what they have learned more closely. For example, suppose you get your class to write a short story. You can then look at the way in which the past simple is used with the past continuous in the narrative to show when an event occured.
